My heart is light, and nothing can bring me down. Carlie had her oncology appointment. And after taking a tapered-down dose of her steroids, her tumor has stayed stable, so she will be going off of her medication completely in a week! Huzzah, Hooray... words I never say, but my soul wants to call them out.
For months, every breath in every prayer has been laced with the pleading that "Carlie's eye will heal and her medication will work." Never missed it, even over meals. Now my eyes are constantly swimming with thankful tears that all those prayers were heeded. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of you who have kept Carlie in your fasting and prayers! And I thank Heavenly Father for blessing her.
That little tumor is still there, but not causing any trouble, so we have to let it ride out. Going after it would be an astronomical feat.
So happiness is at work, and it will take a while before anything seems dismal again. Famous last words.
