Taking February by Storm

So we gave potty training a try... it's hilarious because they're so distracted by each other, they don't care that much. They stay on their potty, and they're excited about the activity, but nothing.  =)

Miranda did her science fair project with her friend Bethany on whether or not age effects taste.

She recruited the neighborhood and extended family to come taste things blindfolded.

Visiting Miranda's cool science fair display.  =)

Adalyn's princess birthday party in Logan:

On Valentine's Day, Carlie & Morgan were having class parties:

While Miranda was performing her dances at the 6th grade Valentine's Dance.  She looked so pretty!

Derek made this giant cookie at our mommy pre-school co-op:

And these girls and their "pinthess thoes"

The hours of activity in the snow... I love all the snow people the kids make!  Derek worked SO HARD out here:

And everyone helped!

First comes love, then comes marriage...

Derek: Mom, where's Jeff?
Me: He's at the gym.
D: (giggle) I called him Jeff... because you call him Jeff.
Me: That's because he's not my dad or my brother; he's my husband. First he was my friend, then he was my boyfriend, then he was my husband.
D: Then you grew a baby.
Me (stifling): Yes, you're right.

Neighbor girl Ashley about 15 min. later: Derek, is Chloe going to have puppies?
D: No, she's not even married yet. She's only 2, so it'll be a while.

Boy Boy Boy

He's a boy. I got to see him a couple times when things were slow at work for Jeff, and we always felt like he was a boy, but today it was more obvious than others. Good thing, because I've already been shopping: 28 outfits, some onesies, blankies, & the fluffiest hooded doggy towel. Glad I didn't have to take all that back! Now about the pink carseat, swing, crib set...

Oh, and get used to it, because Jeff named him Connor Winn about 2 months ago, and it's right. Besides, Winn is Great-Grandpa, Grandpa & Daddy's name. I'm falling in love with it.

I like it

Maybe some people don't like it, but when I'm in the grocery store, the mall, any public place here in Bubble, UT, I love hearing things like:

I'm sorry your insurance agent isn't here to answer your questions. He went to Scout camp.

Hey, is tomorrow Fast Sunday?

Bishop said I have to wear a tie this time.

I really enjoy the non-shock I create when someone has asked me how many children I have. Do I go offering that intel everywhere I go? No, I do not.

It all makes me smile, including shopping in Wally World on Saturday night (which by itself does NOT make me smile, but it's because the whole county is stocking up for the Sabbath) and seeing a flood of couples in church attire come in about 8:45... An adult session of Stake Conference must have just adjourned. And who knows which of the 15 stakes in our 4 cities it is, huh?
