Lefting… Leftaroo!

{For 18 months – Jan ’17 to Jul ’18 – I’m posting our letter to Miranda while she's on her mission to Cochabamba, Bolivia.  Our letter titles are taken from a list of family sayings & catchphrases we recorded onto a pillowcase she has with her.  You can read her adventures on her mission blog: www.hermanamadsen.blogspot.com!}

So we had left for CA Thursday night, and Friday morning, Grandma served breaky in bed to these 11 year old birthday girls!! Here’s Kierste with Meowers. You read that right.

Just had to get that in there. =) And here are the pictures we sent you on Hangout:

And then Mama J's schedule caught up with me.  She does not kid around with keeping you running so the kids don't have time to get into trouble:

Then I decided to get another nap on Space Mt:

These people on the ride with us were giving away their 2 fast passes that the grandparents didn’t want to use, and it was so great for us because there were no more for the day. They were from Utah and WEREN’T LDS. The girl in front of me is in 7th grade at timberline!!  ðŸŽµðŸŽ¶ Its a small, small world ðŸŽ¶ðŸŽµ

That night, Grandma took the kids to Chick-Fil-A for our Westfield Spirit Night.  Westfield PTA gets 20% of the profit if we go on certain nights.  =)  The kids had all run off to the Play Place, and for some reason, this one didn't go:

Meanwhile, Dad & I were eating at a real restaurant for the first (well, second) time at Disneyland ever.  We've always had little darlings who would rather eat a fast cheeseburger & churro, then get back on rides than sit down and wait for beef & potatoes & vegetables.

We just wandered around together and rode something when it seemed like we wanted to stand in line.

Sat at Jolly Holliday with Carlie & Sela, eating treats, then watched Fantasmic:

This happened on the bus ride:

And this for a Wuthering Heights project:

Ok, so we rolled into town about 1 on Tues, and Grandma had everything slick & ready to go... we got back to the kiddos, and kept forgetting pictures.

Derek had tennis practice, I got to have my wire put back on my teeth.  For Mutual, Carlie practiced for the LIP SYNC that's in a couple weeks, and Morgan & Dad read the Book of Mormon as a quorum.  They all took a part of it, and read together; then they're going to attend Conference and report back on the things they read and learned.  Morgan also has started soccer practice... pretty soon I get to put game pictures in again... I love it.

Thursday, Dad took Derek to our Hale Center Theater night to see Hunchback of Notre Dame... apparently it was next level amazing and grand... see the giant bells near the ceiling and the electric screens all around the top of the theater?  They have really stepped up this new theater.

That night, Connor again got his tiny Book of Mormon and asked me if we could do our personal scripture study together... he's starting at the beginning to read on his own.  =)  So now I am 3 places in the BofM; 1 Ne. 1/ Mosiah 8/ Alma 8.  Hahaha!!

Friday night was a tiny bit busy.  When the kids got home from school, we cleaned the house for a party, Derek went to AF Jr. High for tennis matches:

Connor went to Christian Goff's bday party:

Carlie threw a Miraculous Ladybug party because the new season came out.  She had 3 other girls that came, but we didn't think of taking the pic until almost everyone was gone... but I think the most important person was still left... this would be Sterling.  And he's cute.

And then... dun dun dun.... the Easter Bunny came!

Everyone was SUPER EXCITED to be awake at 8 because we had other things we had to squeeze in before Conference:

We ran Derek to tennis lessons, then started Conference!!  Elders Gong & Soares!!  Sister Lisa Harkness from our Stake is the first counselor in the Primary Gen Pres.  =)  She was our Stake YW Pres while you were in YW.  A not-so-good change: they don't put the words to the songs on the screen any more.  Honestly it's probably because we have so many people watching from all over the world, it's exclusionary, or some great reason.  But still.

Of course, I CAN pause Conference, look it up in our 6 hymn books, and we could sing along just fine.  I just didn't want to get up from my seat.  #realproblems

It’s not often that kids get to see their school teachers, let alone their music teachers in the MoTab every conference. :) as well as friends’ dads. :)

In between sessions, we took Connor to his tennis lessons:

And then Tommy sang in the Priesthood Session!!!  He's so handsome.  =)

It was so amazing, the changes they're making.  I love that they're combining the Elders & High Priest Groups into one Elders' Quorum for the ward.  What unity they're going to have!!  I absolutely love the leadership of Pres. Nelson.  When he said he was going to ask the men to literally stand with him, and then called them to stand quorum by quorum until they were all called, to sing "Rise Up, Men of God," it was so powerful.  Here are the men in our family singing the song.  I love these guys with all my heart.

There's this awesome thing that got posted... what's wrong with this girl that she can't see her talent?  I hope she realizes that we admire her art.  =)

And the Conference, Easter and Spring memes:

An oldie but a goodie:

Love you darling! I hope you got to watch conference!!  Talk to you tomorrow! Xoxo Mom
