My heart is sad. We're going on vacation for a few days to Disneyland & SeaWorld. I KNOW Halle & Kierste would NOT enjoy themselves in the CAR for 24 total hours, strolling around D & S, etc. So they are not coming.
My heart aches for them, and they've been at Grandma's house for an hour (gonna sleep there, since we're leaving in the morning). It was different when we were driving with them for 10 hours to my mom's house, then leaving them and jetting over to the Parks for only 3 days. But my mom flew out to stay with Jana and her new granddaughter Mary. I am super happy for you, Jana, that you get Mom all to yourself, catching up, doing nails & eating bon-bons... I expect you'll make it to the spa together. jk - I can "hear" the whine in my posting voice, so I'll end soon.
I know they are going to do great at Carol's house. She loves them so much, and takes such good care of them. And the puppy Chloe is going to have the time of her life with her mama Lucy at their house, too. I'm still sad, feeling guilty, and aching for my almost 2 year old girls.
Done with the whine & cheese, on to the vacay.

Oh! That makes my little heart hurt. I'm sure your vacation will be fun, but leaving those cute ones for so long can't be easy.

Oh, I can understand that feeling! I know you are going to go and have a wonderful time, and you can devote so much to your big kids, but still...
We have actually talked about doing the same thing next summer, and leaving our new babies (that will be a year old) while we all go. It's hard when you have older kids too, because you don't want to wait to long to take them. You are going to have a great time! Enjoy! Your girlies will love getting spoiled. :)

I do love having Mom, and I know things would be disastrous if she weren't here. Seriously, I'm surviving because of her. David doesn't want her to leave either.
i'm so glad that your girls have somewhere loving to be and close to home. I hope your vacation was tons of fun!
